The Long Johns

       

TLJ is a blues rock band that combines honest lyrics with a dynamic rhythm section producing catchy tunes and melodies that leaves the audience and listeners craving for more. The guitarist/vocalist Adrian, "Dong" as his friends call him, hooked-up with Jun (bass) and Tristan (drums) to form a new group that would play and record original songs.

TLJ is composed of:
1. Adrian San Juan - guitars, vocals
Adrian played with a goth band, ‘Prominence of Cathedrals’ during the mid-90s to early 2000, and gigged with a reggae band, ‘Ampalaya Juice’, last 2005 to early 2006. He has been playing for nearly 17 years now and has incorporated versatile techniques from his vast range of influences – from punk to new wave to reggae to blues and rock.

Adrian currently listens to: Rory Gallagher, Robin Trower, Joe Bonamassa, SRV, Savoy Brown, The Allman Brothers, Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan, Tal Farlow, Red Volkaert, Jimi Hendrix.

2. Jun Valdez - bass, backup vocals
Jun listens to: SRV, Sting, Marcus Miller, Jaco Pastorious, Brian Bromberg

3. Tristan Ylagan - drums, percussion
Tristan came from a classic-rock/power blues band "Hairpin" and has been playing the drums for more than 15 years now. Tristan's drumming technique is heavily influenced by classic rock and blues artists from the 70s. Also keeps up to date with the current scene by frequenting local gigs.

Tristan listens to: Allman Bros, Led Zep, Traffic, Eric Clapton, Foghat, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Grand Funk Railroad, Kiss.
